Certain Manipulated Variables (MVs) and Controlled Variables (CVs) are critical to the operation of the entire application. When any of the MVs or CVs with REQONCTRL are turned off, the entire application is turned off (CTRLMODE=1). The requested control mode (REQCTRLMODE) is the requested controller mode but this option downgrades the controller to a simulation mode if a critical MV or CV is OFF.
